Anaerobically Poured Custom Media
Anaerobe Systems has the capability to make small batch custom media formulations, and we are happy to work with you to make the media you need. We can pour plated and broth media in various formats such as standard petri dishes, square/rectangular dishes, large volume bottles for broths, and more. We will produce your culture media using our PRAS manufacturing processes as well as perform strict quality control processes. Anaerobe Systems is an ISO 13845 company, so you can be certain media produced will be of the highest quality.
Custom media formulations will be made according to your specifications and go through our standard quality control validation verifying fill volume, pH, sterility, and growth performance. A certificate of analysis may be provided for an additional one-time fee (not charged for subsequent orders of the same product). Anaerobe Systems stocks a wide range of components for use in media formulations. In the event we do not have a particular component on hand, we will obtain the material with the cost added on as a one-time charge with the first order.

Custom Media Terms & Conditions
- Quotes: All custom media must be quoted by Anaerobe Systems. To request a quote, please use the online form below and Anaerobe Systems will contact you with the quote or a request for more information. Quotes are valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and once a quote has expired an updated quote can be requested. Before ordering, quotes must be signed and returned to Anaerobe Systems accepting the terms.
- Pricing and Fees: Items will be priced per package with minimum order quantity listed. In the event Anaerobe Systems does not already have a raw material or component, the acquisition cost of that component will be added to the quote as a one time Raw Material Acquisition Fee. The Raw Material Acquisition Fee will be equal to the material and shipping costs for the component(s). Most media components are readily available at Anaerobe Systems and their acquisition is not added as a fee. In the event Anaerobe Systems does not already have an organism for testing, the acquisition cost of that organism will be added to the quote as a one time Organism Acquisition Fee. The Organism Acquisition Fee will be equal to the organism and shipping costs for the organism(s).
- Discounts: Custom media will be quoted for the minimum order quantity required, at the product’s base price. Discounts are available for most custom media formats, however certain formats of custom media are not eligible for quantity discounts.
Standard Discounts for Custom Media - Ordering: A valid quote and customer account is required to place a custom media order. Quotes are not required when ordering stock and non-stock items listed on our website, and those items may be mixed in with an order for custom media using the catalog number and price on our website. A purchase order may be emailed to customerservice@anaerobesystems.com, faxed to 408-762-7990, or called in at 800-443-3108 with a reference to the quote number(s). Orders may also be placed using a credit card in lieu of a purchase order. Credit card orders should be called in over the phone.
